The Simple Woman’s Daybook – September 18, 2017

Linking up with our friend Peggy to share my week. It seems like my life is so busy that the only way I am going to be able to blog and stay on course is to get back to my Daybook; with prompts to help me out. Instead of monthly I will go back to weekly for now.

Looking out my window: Dreary, rainy day.  Wish I were home on the couch with  a good book!

I am thinking: about fall and getting cozy in my sweaters and warm socks, drinking some hot tea and reading a good book!

I am thankful: For the little bit of rain we are getting today.

One of my favorite things: Quiet days in the office.

I am creating: I am in search of a baby blanket pattern for my new nephew that will be here in December.

I am wearing: Pink tee, blue jeans, and pink Nikes.

I am reading: … nothing at the moment.

I am listening to: The Return of the King by J. R. R. Tolkein

I am hoping: Our middle daughter makes a decision to move home for the time she has left before basic.

I am learning: or maybe I should say RElearning… to wait on Him!  I always want to jump out and take care of things myself and I have a tendency to mess things up.  May I learn (again) to wait.

In my kitchen: I have been cooking 3-4 days for grandma and this gives her plenty of leftovers for lunch and days that we aren’t home on the weekend.

Board room:

I will be trying to create THIS backyard atmosphere.

Post Script:  My friend has been MIA for about 7 months and has returned to blogland.  She could use your prayers if you care to visit.

Shared quote:

A moment from my day: I am getting my hair done on Thursday.  I don’t like the blonde that I had put on the ends…  Going back to something like this

Closing note: Grandma will be 93 on Sunday.  Again I hold my breath hoping that many family memebers will call her.  I’ll probably turn blue and pass out because it won’t happen.

  1. Pretty hair….I am in desperate need of a cut, sigh…I did manage to color all the white out (notice I said white, no longer gray) this morning before heading out to the dr. I just haven’t felt like doing much. P.S I am still giggling over what you wrote a while back, I sure want to feel 30 again and the dr. said, “Yes, ma’am, I will have you back to feeling better soon.” The big “M” is no fun…just saying, wink and lol.

  2. I have to relearn that often as well. Hope your Grandma has a nice birthday and that people call! We get discouraged by that lack, too. That looks like a really nice backyard! Which blog friend did you mean? Didn’t see a link in that paragraph.

  3. Thank you for your prayers. I’d so love to sit and have a cup of coffee with you during that rainy weather. Our weather doesn’t change much, but I’m not complaining. 😉 So your daughter is going to basic also!? Wow. How are you handling all of that? That’s some serious empty nest.

Get yourself a cup of tea and let's have a chat! I love our talks!
