Friday’s Fave Five – Rainy days

FFF spring

Joining Susanne at Living to Tell the Story to share some of my favorite things from the week.  I’ve been away all week and you would think that I would have lots of GREAT things to share.  To tell the truth I have been so busy since being gone last weekend and trying to prepare for our trip this weekend.  Today we leave for a School Board convention.  Three days at a resort while hubby is in meetings… Boy will I have lots to share next Friday! 🙂

1 – Our drive down to Eureka Springs last weekend was very scenic!  I loved being on the back of the bike and just taking in the fresh air.  A wonderful break in the rain we had (more to come in this morning!).

2 – Visited our oldest for a little bit this week.  I went to her new house to deliver a birthday card for her “step son”…  It’s nice to see her so domestic.

3 – Pool is open!  I worked extra hard this week getting our pool cleaned and ready to use.  It isn’t normally so bad but our cover is old and lots of junk got in the water this year.  I had to scoop leaves, scrub algae, and vacuum many times.  It now looks very inviting.  Just need to get some time to use it!

4 – Three day work week!  Off Monday for Memorial day and off today to leave on our trip.  It was hard getting all my work for the week in three days but it was worth it! 🙂

5 – This may sound strange to some but I have to say… EVERY. SINGLE. morning since we got our new bedroom set, I have made the bed as soon as we get out of it.  I feel so much better when I leave the house.  Something has been accomplished (although a small something, it’s something).

Friday’s Fave Five – Sunny Days

Joining Susanne at Living to Tell the Story to share some of my favorite things from the week from my new blog!

1 – Pedicure!  This week found me sitting in a massage chair getting my toes made pretty!

2 – New toy! Wednesday hubby and I took off work.  We went and found this!

IMAG04733 – Last night I got to stay home from working out.  I know it sounds like I really hate working out but I think I’m just due for a break!  I enjoyed my evening packing for our trip, reading, lounging in the bath, and making travel plans.

4 – Saturday evening after graduation we volunteered at Project Graduation.  It’s always a joy to see how happy these kids are to be out of High School.  That makes me smile.   But it was hard seeing some of the kids from our old youth group.  They have strayed, as most of us did.  Brings me to my knees!

5 – I finished Harry Potter #5!!!! That’s all I can say about that!  I AM SO HAPPY!!!!

1 – Cattle sale!  Wow, we had to sell three cows that had not calved yet.  I was worried that we wouldn’t do well because the cattle market has come down quite a bit.  But I should not have worried, we came out alright.

2 – The Blues had a big win on Sunday evening!!!  Wish I could say the same for the last two games though!  Come on Blues!

3 – Sunday afternoon we got the cattle all settled in their “summer” pasture.  We don’t have to worry about them for a while.  If it starts getting dry and the pond starts getting low we will have to hook up hoses and fill stock tanks to keep them watered.  But I am happy they are moved.

4 – Productive week at work!  I love it when I get things checked off my list!

5 – Wanted to share this… Jada, she’s turning into a “cattle” dog!  She was “helping” us move cattle.  She is looking down the lane to make sure everyone went where they were supposed to! 🙂

Friday’s Fave Five -THE 13th!

Joining Susanne at Living to Tell the Story to share some of my favorite things from the week from my new blog!  I can’t believe it is the middle of May already.  There is only about seven days of school left!

1 – The Blues won round two of the Stanley Cup playoffs!!!   It would be so awesome if they won the Stanley Cup!

2 – Getting back to knitting.  I’ve made quite a bit of progress on my scarf.  I can watch the Blues games and knit at the same time.  What a great way to spend the evening!

3 – Hubby took me to a very nice place for Mother’s day dinner.  I couldn’t take any really nice pictures as every where I turned there were people and some folks don’t take kindly to being in pictures.  The food was excellent.  I can’t wait for another special occasion!

IMAG03984 – Last night I went to the salon and got some fun colors put in my hair for the summer!  Lightened it up a lot.  Hubby really likes it.  I’m getting used to it I guess.

IMAG04155 – Invictus games – Sunday night was the opening ceremony.  We have recorded it all and can’t wait to watch it. These are some of the world’s most amazing people!  It gives me chills to think about what they sacrificed for their countries!  Thank you to all of the Men and Women who have and are serving in the armed forces.

ONE – Blogging, I’m so glad to be back at it. I’m trying to just get a few posts each week.  Don’t need to feel stressed about blogging but I sure miss it when I’m not here.  Learning to use WordPress.
TWO – Got my four days work out in this week. I have been struggling to get past this certain weight and I finally broke through the barrier!

THREE – Blues are doing great in the playoffs!!!!  Well, it’s a tied series right now but it’s so exciting!

FOUR – Cardinals are doing well also!  15-14 early in the season.  Hopefully we can pull ahead.

FIVE – Enjoying the Master suite!  I am doing a great job of making the bed as soon as I get out of it every morning and keeping everything picked up and in it’s place!  When I didn’t have room to put things away it was very difficult to keep it looking neat.  Now it’s my favorite room in the house.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and a Happy Mother’s Day!  We are expecting some rain but it shouldn’t be a wash out.
